POPULAR CLIMATE JUSTICE CIRCUS
Giant puppets! Dancing Cardboard! Politics for all ages!
La Casa dels Futurs collaborates with The Artivist Network to present this political and popular circus that shows the great diversity of the fight for climate justice in Barcelona. These circus shows – both the contents and the giant puppets – are built through a participatory process with groups and social movements from various peripheral neighborhoods of Barcelona. The skits of this circus cover a wide range of issues from airport expansion to migration, from tourism to Palestine, and from forest fires to cruise ships. But this circus not only presents the problems of the climate crisis, but also celebrates the community organization and the popular power of the affected communities as a possible solution to the climate crisis.
This Popular Circus is a project of La Casa dels Futurs, an organization that has the ambition of opening an International Center for Climate Justice and a school of social movements in Barcelona to cross-pollinate social solutions to the climate crisis.
