From the Defense of the Earth to the Defense of our Communites
In December 2021, La Casa dels Futurs organized a public event led by Global South environmental defenders -currently in emergency housing programs in Catalunya – that investigated the ongoing legacy and impacts of colonial extractivism on our cultures, economies and cosmovisiones. With participation of more than 100 participants, these facilitated conversations explored the intergenerational legacy of colonial extractivism and the ongoing socio-enviornmental impacts of this legacy. The results of these conversations where collectively shared and then working groups worked to convert these learnings into visions and proposals for the future Climate Justice Center.
